SBWC 2012 CONFERENCE

June 9-14, 2012
For 40 years SBWC has helped give writers the opportunity to improve their craft, to associate with highly credentialed professionals, and to mingle with other writers. Some of the most renowned writers to emerge from SBWC are Christopher Moore, Catherine Ryan Hyde, and Fannie Flagg.

How It Works
Choose from over two dozen instructional workshops each day on everything from fiction, non-fiction, screenwriting, poetry, travel, memoir, and young adult, to marketing and ways to get your creative juices flowing. In the late afternoons we host a panel, and every evening we have a major author speaker. Agents participate for several days. For an additional fee, you can sign up for our Advance Submission program, in which you submit your query and meet one-on-one with the agent or editor of your choice to talk about your writing and/or pitch your project. Two late-night "pirate" workshops are offered for those who desire in-depth critiquing. Other events include the opening night dinner, midweek cocktail party with agents, and final awards banquet.

Location
SBWC is held at the Hyatt on the beach in Santa Barbara, offering spacious rooms with mountain or ocean views, and amenities including a beautiful pool, and high-speed wireless Internet access.
