January 19-24, 2009 Presented in partnership with Old School Square Cultural Arts Center in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, Florida
Six advanced poetry workshops taught by Martin Espada, Kimiko Hahn, Laura Kasischke, Thomas Lux, Gregory Orr, Anne Marie Macari, Gerald Stern, and two intermediate poetry workshops taught by Denise Duhamel and Victoria Redel that feature twelve hours of workshop participation, one-on-one conference with workshop leader and free admission to all faculty readings and craft talks, Florida Poets readings with Kelle Groom and Michael Hettich and to the Saturday Night Coffee House Readings with Taylor Mali and Lynne Procope as well as to the festival gala cocktail-dinner party. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to read their poems at a free event open to the public.
Readings and craft talks take place in the beautiful and intimate Crest Theatre at Old School Square. Restaurants, art galleries, the Delray Beach Public Library are steps away. Gorgeous beaches are less than a five minute drive.
Each workshop is limited to twelve qualified participants and three auditors. Join poets from all over the world in Palm Beach Country where careful attention to your work will help you generate new poems and improve your process of revision going forward.
