Lesley University Writers' Conference

Lesley University Writers' Conference

Join us on America’s most fertile literary ground.

Sunday, July 26–Friday, July 31, 2009

Come to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where writers such as Robert Frost, Louise Glück, Henry James, Sue Miller, Derek Walcott, Robert Pinsky, and countless others have found the inspiration and conversation critical to successful writing. Lesley's conference supports writers in a collaborative environment that provides rich stimulation for anyone interested in fiction, nonfiction, children's book writing, and poetry.

One week packed with new techniques, ideas, and attention to your writing.
Enjoy rigorous workshops, guest speakers, faculty readings, craft lectures, book signings, and receptions – all of which offer extraordinary opportunities to receive feedback on your work from established writers, share ideas, make connections, and take your writing to the next level.

Attention to detail matters in writing and in planning a conference.
The conference is held on Lesley University’s main campus, located within walking distance of Harvard Square. Applicants apply for admission to a fiction, nonfiction, poetry or children’s book writing workshop. Participants may elect to live on campus or commute, and select a resident or commuter meal plan.

Beginning Sunday, July 26, participants attend a craft lecture and evening reading and interact with the faculty and staff at a reception and dinner. Writing workshops are held each weekday morning, with afternoons devoted to individual conferences with faculty, guest speakers, and craft seminars. Readings by visiting authors, faculty, and participants occur in the evenings.
